This week the travel section of the UK’s telegraph, published an article entitled “The World’s Weirdest Vending Machines”. Anyone who visits Japan will quickly notice the abundance of vending machines selling an impressive, sometimes unbelievable selection of goods. So it is not surprising that Japan was mentioned not once, but twice, in this article which lists nine of the World’s Weirdest Vending Machines, according to The Telegraph. The article named live lobsters and underwear as the weirdest vending machines in Japan. Other ‘weird vending machines’ included hot burritos in Los Angeles and mashed potatoes in Singapore. An article Unique Vending Machines in Japan on Japan travel website Deep Japan, describes even more of the weird and wonderful things you can find in Japanese vending machines, including fresh eggs and hot cans of vegetable stew!
