The Japan National Tourism Organization’s announcement late May reporting that the number of foreign visitors to Japan had reached a record high. According the JNTO, in April of this year, some 1.765 million visitors (almost half the population of Yokohama) had come to Japan, a figure 43.3% higher than last year. The number of foreign visitors to Japan between January and April, they said, totaled 5.9 million – that’s more than four times the population of Kyoto!
Guess what happens as the numbers of international visitors grow?
Not only do hotels fill up, it becomes more difficult to secure hotel stays in the same room for extended stays. Sometimes you have to move around two or three times as you fill in spaces between other reservations. Not fun and very hard to settle!
When you come for a stay of one month or more in Tokyo/Yokohama or elsewhere in Japan, consider using a comfortable, home-like serviced apartment. With a nice kitchen, balconies and windows to let in natural air and weekly cleaning, a serviced apartment lets you settle in and feel at home enjoying the benefits of a hotel on a much less intrusive level. The serviced apartment will help you focus on successful completion of your tasks in Japan. Jarman International works with H&R Group (Relo Japan) for various serviced apartment options and one of our favorites that will be available from July 1 is at the Hotel and Residence Roppongi (just between Gonpachi and Roppongi Hills in Nishi Azabu). Apartment 1404 is both spacious and perfect for having friends over for meals or a quick meeting with colleagues. The storage space is ample and the design is clean and fresh.
