Jarman-International K.K Founder and CEO Ruth Marie Jarman was interviewed by the national syndicate, the Japan Times about her achievements and slogans for work and life.
At the start of 2019, Ruth Jarman joined a prestigious group of successful businesspeople in Japan included in the DIRECTORY OF WHO’S WHO IN THE WORLD OF BUSINESS IN JAPAN.
The following are exerts from the interview:
JT: Over your career, what achievement are you the proudest of?
RMJ: Achieving the Japanese real estate license was a huge milestone. It took me five years and I consider it more important than an MBA because few non-Japanese get it. Moreover, recently I was able to successfully gather 27 international professionals and a huge Japanese company to discuss a new service. I’m also very proud of my latest book in Japanese, “39 reasons to be proud that we should never forget,” which came out in November.
JT: Please state your motto in life and why you have chosen it.
RMJ: My current motto is “Bring back the love.” I feel that a lot of us have lost touch with the love part, especially in the U.S. The world is becoming more multicultural and fundamentally, you need love to have compassion and empathy. My forever motto is, “If you are gonna do something you have to do it right.” Be very dedicated and committed, devote yourself and give your best.
