BIO: Born and raised in Toronto, Marina Usher spent most of her career working as a producer for Canada’s public broadcaster. Her experience there included writing, researching, producing, and video editing for television as well as creating content for social media platforms. With a Specialist in East Asian studies from the University of Toronto, Marina has combined her academic and professional experience into her work in Japan. She spent her first few years in Japan working as a Global Strategist at a Tokyo startup, consulting with various international media brands wanting to target the Japanese market. She freelances as a field producer and fixer for international clients wanting to focus on Japan, and consults for various Japanese tourist organizations.
